Let’s Talk MOTIVATION versus DISCIPLINE
A highly asked question I get is HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED?
To be honest you probably CAN’T and WON’T be motivated 100% of the time.
We are all human and all have days when we’d probably rather just stay in bed or curl up on the couch and eat 10 packets of Maltesers.
An important thing to remember though is motivation ISN’T essential for you to do the workout or eat the right foods.
What is far more important than MOTIVATION is DISCIPLINE.
Your motivation to wake up when your alarm goes off at 5am three times a week for training will probably go up and down. If you are relying purely on being motivated to get up then chances are some days you will stay in bed. But you can be DISCIPLINED to wake up 3 days per week at 5am. DISCIPLINE takes away the choice. It’s just simply what you do. You don’t need to summons the MOTIVATION at 5am because you are DISCIPLINED to just do it.
Always remember WHY you are doing it and bring it back to your GOALS.
Moral of the story MOTIVATION is an amazing thing when you have it & your workout will probably be better, but it’s not essential, put your effort into staying DISCIPLINED instead.
